The Relentless School Nurse: Dr. Comilla Sasson’s Journey to Join the Frontlines of COVID

Dr. Comilla Sasson sought out the frontlines of COVID from the onset of the pandemic. She journeyed to epi-center of COVID, first in New York City and then whereever she was most needed. Dr. Sasson spent the past two years working in hospitals systems ravaged by COVID, lending her expertise of almost two decades of emergency room medicine to the weary staff.

Here is her story, told through Rocky Mountain PBS, and shared with the raw emotion that we have all felt during the pandemic:

I met Dr. Sasson on Twitter, where we bonded over school safety and COVID mitigation strategies in schools. She has two young children and was on a mission to promote awareness of air quality. She co-founded a company called CO2 Check, that sells a CO2 monitoring device. Their tag line is “Be Aware of Your Air.”
