My second stop on this media whirlwind was FOX29 Good Day from Philadelphia, my hometown station. It was quite an adventure, but I held my own. The overarching theme of the message I shared is that we want to return to school, but we must follow the science, the voice of public health experts, and do it safely with fidelity.
I learned a lot through these media experiences and am happy to share some of the takeaways.
Three big lessons learned:
- Listen to Sara Bareilles “Brave” for inspiration
- Say YES! We need the voice of school nurses out in the world.
- Have several clear messages and stick to them.
