
I can smell summer, it’s so very close, only a few more sleeps away from some much anticipated breathing room. I am concluding my 23rd year as a school nurse, 39th as a nurse. The time has passed so quickly and there is much more on the horizon, but for today I want to spend time reflecting on my appreciation for this special community of readers of my blog.
I am filled with immense gratitude for your unwavering support and engagement with The Relentless School Nurse blog. Your readership has been instrumental in fostering a vibrant community dedicated to advocating for the well-being of school nurses, as well as students, while promoting safe and healthy learning environments.
Together, we have navigated numerous challenges, from managing overwhelming workloads to addressing evolving public health crises, combating disinformation and promoting school nursing practice. Your active participation and thoughtful feedback have been a constant source of motivation to keep writing!
Your diverse perspectives and unique experiences have broadened my appreciation of issues faced by school nurses across the county, challenging me to approach them from different angles. Your trust and willingness to engage in open and honest dialogues have been truly inspiring.
Moving forward, I remain committed to delivering high-quality content that informs, inspires, and empowers. Your voices will continue to shape the direction of The Relentless School Nurse, and I look forward to many more thought-provoking discussions and meaningful connections.
It has been my overarching goal to recognize the critical need to support school nurses in our important work. The trauma responses and mental health risks shared by our colleagues underscore the urgency of addressing workload, respect in the workplace, and the value of our profession. School nurses unifying to support each other and demand change is crucial.
