I am coming home from another incredible NASN conference with a renewed sense of connection, and purpose, after an infusion of learning, laughing, camaraderie, and time well spent with dear colleagues. This year’s theme was “Stronger Together” and it resonated with the school nurses.
I’m deeply moved by the outpouring of support from school nurses who read The Relentless School Nurse. Despite having to leave early for a family wedding, the connections I made were profoundly meaningful. The warm hugs, kind words, and shared stories touched me and reinforced the importance of our work together.
Your enthusiasm and appreciation fuel my passion to continue highlighting the crucial role of school nurses. Each interaction underscored how vital our profession is in promoting student health and well-being. Your stories and experiences remind me why it’s so important to keep advocating for school nurses as “Chief Wellness Officers” in our school communities. Thank you for taking the time to connect with me, it meant the world.
We are indeed “Stronger Together.” The collective power of school nurses united through NASN membership is what I leave with after attending NASN conferences. By participating, school nurses contribute to a larger community that advocates for our profession, shares knowledge, and works towards improving student health on a national scale. This unity allows for a greater impact in addressing challenges in school health and elevating the role of school nurses in educational settings.
NASN membership not only benefits individual school nurses but also strengthens our entire profession, ultimately leading to better health outcomes for students across the country.
