Cissy White is a nationally known trauma-survivor expert. She uses her wide platform to speak out about having the voice of survivors included in all aspects of trauma work. As Cissy says, “It is not trauma informed, unless it is informed by trauma survivors.” Cissy is also a writer, blogger, and community organizer. She speaks and writes about the personal and professional divide between survivors and experts. As Cissy shares, many people working in the trauma informed world are both, but the voice of survivors as experts has been ignored.
