School Nursing

The Relentless School Nurse: School Nurses, Administrators, & University Faculty, Share Your COVID-19 Experiences & Add to a Collective Knowledge Base.

This important survey comes from NASN, and I am hoping that we can share this far and wide to help generate a robust national response. Our feedback is urgently needed to better prepare for re-entry into school. We are in the midst of an unprecedented time,  be part of the response!

The purpose of this survey is to elicit the impact of COVID-19 on health in schools, and the school nurses. We will use the information to advise school-related health crises and infection control measures policies, as well as highlight school nurse activities.

All responses are anonymous. Please complete by May 1, 2020.

It is estimated to take about 20 minutes for practicing school nurses and school nurse administrators to complete (less for University educators). We know this is a valuable amount of your time, however, we feel the information we glean from the survey will have a lasting impact on policy and programming.

You are able to begin the survey and then return to finish it. To do this, do not just exit the survey but follow the prompts to save your survey first.

The questions ask activities before and during the COVID-19 crises, as well as plans for when schools reopen.

There is an item that will ask you to share any activities you are most proud of to address working virtually (if you are able). You may want to type this up ahead of time, to make it easier to insert.

In addition, there is another item in the survey that will ask you to share links to articles or media highlighting school nurses in your area. Please locate that link before starting the survey to make it easier for you. You can also skip either question if you have nothing to share.

If you have any questions, please contact Erin Maughan at emaughan@nasn.org.
