School reopening is on all of our minds. It’s what keeps those of us who work in education up at night. It is the chatter on social media and the focus of those tasked with creating re-entry plans. What we don’t have are clear national guidelines from our previously most trusted public health source, the CDC. Parents are rightfully confused and concerned because the messaging has been so mismanaged and poorly executed.
91 Questions for Reopening Schools has had more than 40,000 views on The Relentless School Nurse. Since then, Dr. David Aderhold, the author and NJ School Superintendent has written two updates, bringing the number of questions to 284. Clearly, there are more questions than answers.
This coming Thursday evening, June 18th at 8:00 pm ET, there will be a webinar with a national panel of school health experts who will share insights on best practices for mitigating health risks as we work to safely reopen our schools.

Who is organising this meeting and who are the school health experts who will be presenting it please so I may promote this in the NYS community?
Hi Sue, The organization is a group of NJ School Superintendents that have been hosting weekly webinars. This week is focused on school health. The panel is Dr. Mary Beth Miotto, a pediatrician from MA, Michael Kelly, a professor of school social work from Loyola, Lisa Kern, school nursing supervisor from Pasco Cty, FL and Liz Pray, President-Elect of SNOW – WA school nurses assocation. I may be on the panel, waiting for confirmation. I organized this week’s group.
