My anticipation of the book The Little Iceberg arriving all the way from Scotland has been one of the few bright spots during COVID-19. I have been following the work of developmental psychologist and research scientist, Dr. Suzanne Zeedyk, since our paths crossed on Twitter. She founded connected babyto share the science of connection. The tagline for connected baby is “bringing the science of connection to life.” Dr. Zeedyk and her team at connected baby are the force behind bringing “The Little Iceberg” to fruition.
The Little Iceberg happily arrived at my house this past week. The book is substantial in scope and message. The story, written by Nicky Murray and companion guide, co-authored with Dr. Zeedyk, skillfully describes a healing relationship between a lonely iceberg floating aimlessly in a vast ocean that is befriended by a little bird. Glorious illustrations by Sylvia Lynch bring the words of author and educator, Nicky Murray to life as we watch an unconventional friendship unfold. The underlying themes of trauma and the healing nature of connection are woven throughout the story.
The book launch is available to view! You will meet Dr. Suzanne Zeedyk, author Nicky Murray, illustrator Sylvia Lynch, and some very special guests, in conversation about “The Little Iceberg.”
