My love, respect and appreciation for the work of Sesame Street Workshop and Sesame Street in Communities is grounded in their mission to address challenging social justice issues and how they impact health equity. But as they do with all of their content, it is through an early childhood lens that is evdience based and steeped in research. Sesame Street has provided child-centered content about violence, bullying, immigration, grief, ACEs, trauma, COVID-19 and now the importance of vaccination. This past weekend @CNN hosted a COVID-19 Town Hall with Sesame Street in Communities.
Answering kids’ (and parents’) questions about the Covid-19 vaccine for ages 5 to 11 By Sandee LaMotte, CNN
Your friends on Sesame Street are here to support you during the COVID-19 crisis. We know that these are stressful times, and families everywhere are coping with changing routines, anxiety, and loss. Our site is filled with rich content you can use with children to spark playful learning, offer them comfort, and help your whole family thrive. We hope our resources help you play, learn, and breathe deeply together—and we’ll keep adding more as we weather this crisis together. #CaringForEachOther
