Eclipse Escapades: Tales from the School Nurse’s Den, By Holly Giovi
In the school nurse’s cozy den,
A solar eclipse was set to begin.
With bandages and thermometers in tow,
She prepared for a day of woe.
As the moon danced ’round the sun’s bright glow,
Strange maladies began to show.
Kids with spots in shapes bizarre,
And others seeing stars from afar.
A boy turned green, then sprouted wings,
While a girl’s laughter echoed and rings.
The nurse, with her and charms,
Calmly tended to each alarm.
But amidst the chaos, she found delight,
In this celestial, peculiar sight.
For in the midst of all the fuss,
Magic mingled with science, thus.
As the eclipse reached its peak,
The nurse felt a sense of mystique.
For in this moment, under cosmic reign,
She healed with love, not just with pain.
So when the eclipse bid its adieu,
The nurse smiled, her spirits anew.
For in her care, through sun and shadow’s chase,
She found her calling, her healing grace.
