The Relentless School Nurse: Sign-Up for neffyinSchools! Needle Free Epi!

ARS Pharmaceuticals is set to launch the neffyinSchools Program in January 2025, providing eligible K-12 schools in the U.S. with two free cartons (four single-use doses) of neffy® 2mg epinephrine nasal spray for emergency use. This initiative aims to address the urgent need for anaphylaxis treatment in schools, where many children with food allergies have experienced accidental exposure.

Neffy offers a needle-free alternative to traditional auto-injectors, which can help alleviate fears associated with needles and eliminate concerns about sharps disposal. It is approved for individuals weighing 66 lbs or more and has a shelf life of 30 months.

Key Highlights:

  • Eligibility: Public and private K-12 schools across the U.S.
  • Quantity Provided: Two cartons (four single-use doses) of neffy® 2mg
  • Cost: Free, with replacements available for used or expired products
  • Launch Date: January 2025

Schools must comply with state regulations regarding the stocking of epinephrine. Some states may need to update their protocols to incorporate neffy’s unique delivery system.

To support this initiative, a webinar for school nurses and administrators is scheduled for December 12, offering training and additional information. More details will be shared following the program’s official launch in January.
