Nurse Holly, a seasoned school nurse with over three decades of experience, has become a pillar of advocacy and support within the school nurse community. Known for her nurturing spirit and commitment to student well-being, Holly has extended her influence beyond the traditional confines of her nursing role. She has taken a creative and impactful stance for marginalized students by channeling her advocacy into wearable art.
In response to the tumultuous political climate following President Trump’s inauguration, Holly found solace and purpose in designing T-shirts that convey messages of love, inclusivity, and affirmation for the LGBTQ+ community. Her Etsy shop, where these designs are sold, not only serves as a platform for her creative expression but also as a means to give back. All proceeds are donated to the Long Island PFY (Pride for Youth) chapter, an organization dedicated to supporting and empowering young people navigating their identities.

Rather than letting that helplessness consume me, I decided to channel my energy into something tangible – something positive. I turned to creativity, designing T-shirts that express unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community. This project became both a personal act of resistance and a gesture of solidarity. Every design I create carries a message of love, inclusivity, and affirmation.
What started as a way to refocus my anxiety has evolved into a mission to give back. I’ve committed to donating the proceeds from my Etsy shop to the Long Island PFY (Pride for Youth) chapter — a local organization that provides essential support and services to LGBTQ+ youth. The work they do is life-affirming, offering safe spaces and critical resources to young people navigating their identities.
Some of the designs include:
Making America Gay Again Tee

MAGA Love Wins Tee – Rainbow Edition

Pride Edition MAGA – Making America Gay Again Tee

MAGA – Making America Gay Again Tee

Pride Message Unisex Heavy Cotton Tee
In the face of uncertainty, I’ve learned that small acts of kindness can have ripple effects. While I may not be able to change policies or halt the tide of national events, I can create messages of hope and help amplify the voices of those who are often marginalized.
As school nurses, we know that every child deserves to feel seen, safe, and supported. This project is my way of extending that care beyond the walls of my health office. My hope is that others will be inspired to find their own ways to turn fear into action — to take what feels uncontrollable and transform it into something that uplifts our communities.
Together, our small acts can become something relentless — a force for compassion, inclusion, and change.
