As a parent, nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of your child. When you send them off to school each day, you want to have confidence that their learning environment is secure and that robust emergency plans are in place.
Unfortunately, the reality is that school safety remains a major concern for families across the country. Active shooter drills, lockdowns, and reports of violence have become all too common.
Your voice matters, please take a few minutes to complete this important school security survey. Your anonymous responses will help provide critical insights into the current state of safety in K-12 schools from a parent’s perspective. This work is led by David Riedman, creator, and data scientist behind the K-12 School Shooting Database (K-12 SSDB).
The survey covers a range of topics, including your perceptions of your child’s school emergency preparedness, the safety technologies deployed, and your top security concerns. By sharing your honest feedback, you’ll be contributing to research that could ultimately help make schools safer for all students.
The information below is sourced directly from the K-12 School Shooting Database. There is a link to the survey and information about David Riedman. He is a leading authority on school safety. Your participation in this survey can help shape school safety policies and further understanding of parents’ perspectives on this important topic.
This is a non-academic survey to get a better understanding of the landscape of school security from parents’ perspective. The answers to this survey are completely anonymous.
This should take less than 5 minutes.
If you have multiple children in k-12 schools, please fill this survey out for each student.
Thank you for your time and commitment to help keep students safe!
