One of the most influential voices in school nursing practice is Janice Selekman, DNSc, RN, NCSN, FNASN. Dr. Selekman has published an article about the urgent health crisis caused by vaping. This is a particular concern for our youth and adolescents who are lured to vaping by slick marketing campaigns and flavored additives that appeal to teens.
The press release has links to both the article that was recently published in Pediatric Nursing and a podcast with Dr. Selekman to accompany her important article. Please read, listen and share with colleagues, school staff and parents. We all have a duty to understand the scope of the problem and educate ourselves and our school community on the dangers of vaping.
