A final message for Election Day 2024 from one of my fav guest bloggers, Judy Doran.
Judy, Maine’s 2023 School Nurse of the Year, is here to share her heartfelt message about the importance of voting. With decades of nursing including 16 years of school nursing, she has a knack for connecting with her community. Judy knows firsthand how crucial this day is for all of us.
As she gears up to work at the polls, Judy reflects on the weight of this moment. Her words are a passionate reminder that every vote matters, especially in these razor-thin races. With her unique perspective as both a nurse and an engaged citizen, she’s urging all of us to step up and make our voices heard.
Judy’s call to action isn’t just about politics; it’s about protecting our families, our friends, and our future. She’s been on the frontlines of healthcare advocacy and knows that when we come together and vote, we can create real change. So let’s join her in making this day count!
#NursesVote
Morning Friend,
This is A DAY!!!
I’m about to don my best bipartisan duds to work at the polls. I’m honored. My head is spinning with the consequences of this day. What a contrast!!! Anyhow, hope you are well, and let’s do this!!!
Keeping it short today VOTE
This is it VOTE
Your vote counts VOTE
Cast it VOTE
VOTE Dem down the ballot.
Support your local folks and State Reps!!!
Protect your sisters VOTE
Protect your moms VOTE
Protect your daughters VOTE
Protect your nieces, granddaughters, friends VOTE
Protect your sons VOTE
Protect your husbands VOTE
Protect your partners VOTE
Protect your neighbors VOTE
Protect the environment VOTE
Protect healthcare VOTE
Protect choice VOTE
Protect our Constitution VOTE
Protect our Democracy VOTE
You get the idea NO MATTER WHAT ….hey hey Sisters in those razor-thin states, hey Sisters everywhere else………VOTE VOTE VOTE. Your lives and the lives of everybody you love depends on it. You are Registered Nurses, Registered Voters.
I along with zillions of other Dems have had the privilege many times over of supporting candidates, door knocking, phone calling, writing, persuading, filling the coffee machine, whatever. Yesterday afternoon as I left the little rally at a busy intersection in my town I was struck by a vibe. It was sober, it was serious, it was hopeful, it was maybe a little bit of whistling in the dark. Where are we going? We can do this. What is going to happen? We got this. We are doing this. Eye contact lingered a little bit longer than usual. “See you tomorrow”. “Get some rest tonight”. It was distinct. It was palpable. This is it. – JD
